I seem to remember reading something that said;
1. Put bike in second.
2. Let out clutch and push bike back. This brings the piston to its farthest point away from highest compression (if you don't do this, the engine won't have enough momentum to overcome the pressure in that big ole jug).
3. Engage clutch.
4. Push 'er up to speed (faster is better!)
5. Manual function decompression solenoid (this could get tricky... I suppose you have to reach under the right side of the tank and push it in like when you check it's travel during services. Of course, I've never done this, so I don't know if it is even possible with the tank on.... Sounds like another good use for that third hand that you need to adjust valve clearances.
6. Pop clutch.
7.a. Roar off into the sunset.
OR
7.b. After dumping it, pick it up, swear, decide to get a new battery....
OK, I didn't really read that last step, but I did see the other stuff somewhere. I thought it was on this site, but now I can't find it. Again, I make no promises.
-KTRSD (and the battery in good shape...)
